Service Learning Workshop June 5-7, 2012

This three day workshop on June 5-7, 2012 is a great opportunity to increase your skills in the development and implementation of service learning courses that focus on the elimination of health disparities. Service learning is a very effective mechanism for understanding health disparity and health equity  issues and moving to action to eliminate these inequities. The course will provide an overall orientation to the conceptual framework for service learning, developing community partnerships for service learning courses, different models for service learning and service learning activities, the role of reflection in service learning, evaluation tools, and lessons learned from our work.

An additional  important focus of the course is an intensive day long field experience in rural, border or tribal communities as well a working directly with course participants to develop different aspects of service learning within their own courses, linking experiences to advocacy and action. Now is the time to incorporate service learning into your course in meaningful ways. Come join us!
