Facilitated by Gretchen Gibbs, February 22 to March 9, 2012.  In this fully online mini-course participants can experience taking an online course while learning about tools and techniques for teaching online and hybrid courses.
 
The course will be conducted asynschronously. Participants will be expected to login at least once per day and should count on reserving 1 hour of time pers 24 hour period for course related activities like reading.

 

This self-paced mini-course takes place over 17 days and is totally online using the UA’s D2L learning system. This seminar will include at least one synchronous web meeting.
 
Over the 17 day period participants will be asked to complete modules and tasks related to teaching online. Facilitator Gretchen Gibbs will guide the course as an instructor, and will be provide information on pedagogical strategy and decision making when creating an online course.
 
You will be provided with examples of: 
 
o   Quizzing and testing
o   Lectures and presentations
o   Discussion Forums
o   Lessons and learning activities
o   Synchronous and asynchronous communication

o     Lesson assessment and evaluation
 
Participants will receive a certificate of completion and be invited to evaluate and provide feedback about the online mini-course experience, UA credit is not provided for this mini-course.
