For TAs
The OIA offers a variety of services and programs that provide instructional support and development opportunities to TAs. One-on-one consultations are available related to any pedagogical topic, issue, challenge, or concern. Workshops that address common teaching topics are offered throughout the year. TAs can request a teaching observation or a student focus group to get feedback about any aspect of their teaching. On-line modules (TA Training on Line—TATO) are available on several pedagogical topics such as rubrics, assessing student writing, supervising labs, and defining learning objectives. For those interested in exploring teaching more extensively and honing their teaching skills, the 10-credit professional development program, the Certificate in College Teaching, is also available.
